Shocked to hear that one of the UKs largest managing agents is having serious difficulty persuading their contractor to handover the furlough cash that the contractor received from government during lockdown, when the contractor was not required to provide the services. The contractor believes its their money!

It’s a problem because many Landlords and Agents have paid their contractors in full and have no visibility on the furlough claims that were made. That has to be addressed, there is only one rightful ‘home’ for the money and that’s a credit to the service charge. We are sure all Landlords and Agents agree and they must tackle their contractors for full visibility & only pay for services received before reconciliation. Perhaps this is part of the reason why so many were not willing to provide the ‘on account’ covid credit adjustments
